In addition to oil paintings, I have also painted murals, icons, sculpted, etched and designed for the theatre, both in Europe and the United States.  In addition to working as an artist, I have taught mathematics and art for many years, worked for several museums, and in the last few years, been increasingly involved in the world of archaeology and conservation. 

      My formal training began at the age of twelve with an apprenticeship to the figurative painter J. Pfhol; it was followed by a first prize in the Ralph Bradley Competition from the Boston Museum School, and later by an honours BA degree from Williams College, USA, in fine art, despite my figurative style being in diametric opposition to the official focus on conceptual art.  Since then, I have attended courses at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de la Haute Normandie, worked with artists such as J. Lechay, A. Ippolito and H. Basilevsky.  In the last few months, I have been learning how to work stone and collaborating  with the Roman contemporary composer Enrico Razzicchia on a combined project.

 

After a long silence, I began showing again in 2000, in Switzerland, France and the United States, and now, Germany.  My work has found its way into private collections throughout Europe and in the United States.

Neben Ölgemälden zählen zu meinen Werken Wandbilder, Ikonen, Skulpturen, Radierungen und auch Bühnenbilder und Lichtdesign für das Theater. Dabei entstanden meine Werke sowohl in den USA als auch in Europa.

                    

Neben meiner künstlerischen Arbeit unterrichtete ich mehrere Jahre Mathematik und Kunst, arbeitete für mehrere Museen und beschäftigte mich in den vergangenen Jahren zunehmend mit der Welt der Archäologie und Konservierung. 

Auf künstlerischer Seite plane ich eine Serie von Bildern, die in Zusammenarbeit mit dem zeitgenössischen Komponisten Enrico Razzicchia entstehen werden.

Meine künstlerische Ausbildung begann im Alter von 12 Jahren mit einem Praktikum bei dem figurativen Maler J.Pfhol; es folgte ein erster Preis im Ralph Bradley Wettbewerb der Boston Museum School und im weiteren Verlauf ein Bachelor Abschluss in Kunst, mit Auszeichnung, am Williams College, USA - dies, obwohl mein figurativer Stil der Ausrichtung der Universität auf „conceptual art“ grundlegend widersprach.

Seit dieser Zeit habe ich mehrere Kurse an der „Ecole des Beaux Arts de la Haute Normandie“ besucht und mit Künstlern wie J. Lechay, A. Ippolito und H. Basilevsky gearbeitet.

Nach einer langen Phase der Stille begann ich im Jahr 2000 wieder damit, meine Werke auszustellen – zunächst in der Schweiz, Frankreich und den Vereinigten Staaten und nun in Deutschland. Meine Arbeiten haben ihren Weg in Privatsammlungen in Europa und den USA gefunden.
